Spain: UNO Logística asks for fuel aid to run until December and double to 40 cents

Hours before the emergency aid expires on 30 September, UNO Logística is asking the Economy Ministry to extend it to 31 December, double the professional diesel discount to 40 cents a litre, and extend support to vans up to 3,500 kg — with at least €500 per vehicle for those without professional diesel status.

CP Newsroom

We already knew that professional diesel aid in Spain expires on 30 September, with CETM warning of a rise of up to 24 cents a litre without an extension. Now UNO Logística, through its president Francisco Aranda, is taking the request to the Economy Ministry, to Minister Carlos Cuerpo and Secretary of State for Trade Amparo López.

What UNO Logística is asking for

  • Extend the support measures until 31 December — three months beyond the current 30 September deadline.
  • Double the professional diesel discount, from 20 to 40 cents a litre.
  • Extend support to vans up to 3,500 kg that have no access to the professional diesel scheme: either the same fuel discount, or a direct grant of at least €500 per vehicle.

Why now

The association links the request to the conflict in the Middle East, which keeps pushing fuel costs up and straining hauliers’ cost structures — the situation that triggered the first round of aid “still hasn’t normalised”, according to UNO Logística.

Why it matters for hauliers leaving Portugal

Anyone running delivery vans in Spain without professional diesel status would get dedicated support for the first time if the Ministry accepts the proposal. For those already on professional diesel, the government’s decision in the coming days will determine whether the cost per litre rises or falls from 1 October.

France to cut diesel prices from 1 November using strategic reserves

The French government will release 10 million barrels of diesel from its strategic reserves, bought at around €0.28/litre before the Middle East war escalated, to cut pump prices between 1 November and 31 January 2027. The planned cut is 12 to 18 cents per litre for road diesel. Meanwhile, French hauliers'' associations are asking for administrative, not criminal, penalties for shippers who fail to index the price to diesel.

Portugal: aid of up to €457.80 per lorry is now law — 10 working days to apply to the IMT, paid in order of arrival

Portugal's Decree-Law No. 199/2026, published on 7 October, puts into practice the extraordinary fuel aid announced in September. It is Portuguese state aid, only for companies licensed by the IMT (Portugal). Freight hauliers operating for hire or reward apply on the IMT website, within 10 working days from the day the form opens. Payment follows the order of submission, until the €30 million runs out.

Spain: September's decree brings two different fuel aids — don't mix up the figures

The Real Decreto-ley 25/2026, de 29 de septiembre, bundles together two separate measures: a general cut to the Hydrocarbons Tax for all drivers (20, 13 and 6 cents/litre in October, November and December) and the already-known extraordinary aid for professional diesel, which rises in the opposite direction (5, 12 and 19 cents/litre). Fenadismer challenges how the cut is managed through filling stations.
