Professional diesel in Portugal: rebate of about 10.74 cents from Monday

ANTRAM points to €0.1074/l from 14 September. The new excise duty rate has already been published.

CP Newsroom

From 14 September, ANTRAM puts the professional diesel rebate at around €0.1074/l, against €0.1085/l up to the 13th. The figure is the estimate published in the association’s update of 11/09.

Portaria No 430-A/2026/1 confirms that it takes effect on Monday and sets the excise duty on road diesel on the mainland at €264.02 per 1,000 litres. That tax figure is not the amount of the rebate.

For an eligible fill of 500 litres, ANTRAM’s rounded values work out at about €53.70, €0.55 less than the week before. It is an illustrative calculation; the rebate depends on qualifying under the scheme.

Update the expected net cost for refuelling in Portugal.

France to cut diesel prices from 1 November using strategic reserves

The French government will release 10 million barrels of diesel from its strategic reserves, bought at around €0.28/litre before the Middle East war escalated, to cut pump prices between 1 November and 31 January 2027. The planned cut is 12 to 18 cents per litre for road diesel. Meanwhile, French hauliers'' associations are asking for administrative, not criminal, penalties for shippers who fail to index the price to diesel.

Spain: September's decree brings two different fuel aids — don't mix up the figures

The Real Decreto-ley 25/2026, de 29 de septiembre, bundles together two separate measures: a general cut to the Hydrocarbons Tax for all drivers (20, 13 and 6 cents/litre in October, November and December) and the already-known extraordinary aid for professional diesel, which rises in the opposite direction (5, 12 and 19 cents/litre). Fenadismer challenges how the cut is managed through filling stations.
