Maurienne: new restrictions on abnormal loads since 14 September

The Ravoire bridge on the RD1006 is closed to the convoys concerned until 21 September. On the A43, certain widths and weights require an escort.

CP Newsroom

The Ravoire bridge on the RD1006 at Pontamafrey is closed to the abnormal loads concerned between 14 and 21 September 2026, according to the SFTRF. Between 21 September and 12 October, the announced limit for this bridge becomes 48 tonnes and 3 metres wide.

On the A43 through the Maurienne, convoys between 3.50 and 5 metres wide and/or between 72 and 120 tonnes need an escort between La Chambre (junction 26) and Hermillon (junction 27), in both directions. The escort must be requested from the SFTRF four full days in advance.

For widths over 5 metres, the Italy–France direction is closed until 17 October. In the opposite direction there is a specific escort procedure.

These limits apply to the sections and loads identified by the operator. The 48-tonne limit refers to the RD1006 bridge; it is not a general ban on that weight in the Fréjus tunnel. The source does not give times for the change of phase.
