Wels-West–Voralpenkreuz stays closed until early July 2027. The official diversion runs via the A25 and the A1.

The A8 between Wels-West and the Voralpenkreuz interchange, southbound, closes from 15 September 2026, with reopening expected in early July 2027. ASFINAG confirmed the timetable in its statement of 10 September.

The closure allows the Noitzmühle and Steinhaus tunnels to be refurbished. The affected link gives access to the junction of the A1, A8 and A9.

The official diversion runs via the A25 towards Linz/Vienna as far as Haid, then the A1 towards Voralpenkreuz and Salzburg. Build this route into the planning of southbound trips.

The statement gives the start date and an expected reopening, without setting times. Check the operator’s live information before the crossing.
